I must have been a good girl this past year, because Santa brought me some great presents this year!MightyBright – Book Light Clarisonic – Deep Pore Cleansing Head Alex & Ani – Claddagh Charm Bangle The Paris Wife by Paula McClain White Truffles in Winter by N.M. Kelby Lekue – French Macaron Maker Lenox – Eternal Lead Cake Plate Personalized Cookie Jar Flora by Gucci Body Lotion in Gorgeous Gardenia and Glorious Mandarin. Dolce and Gabbana perfume in The One Victoria’s Secret Cotton Mayfair Pajamas Madden Girl Black Wedge Boots Naturalizer Vienna Oxford Brown Boots And my most favorite gift of all is my new Dyson DC 40 vacuum. I have already vacuumed 5 out of the 6 days that I have had it. It maneuvers around the house so easily over all types of floors without having to adjust anything. But what it sucked up that my old vacuum left behind was disturbing. I love the vacuum. Thank you Santa for all my gifts this year!
Now that December is upon us and there are only 29 days until Christmas morning I have put together my Christmas wish list for the Hubby to work off of. Sometimes it’s the small things that I want the most and he really wouldn’t remember what they were or where to find them.
Apple Magic Mouse – $69
Bath Pillow – $24.99
Dyson Vacuum – $499.99
Canon DSLR Camera – ? (I have no idea which one I want. I need to do more research)
LL Bean Winter Boots – $99
French Macaron Kit – $40
Cuisinart Pro Classic Food Processor – $99.95
Sadly, if I could only pick one of these things, it would be the vacuum. I hate my vacuum and it would really make my life so much easier and cleaner if I had a properly working vacuum.
Off the list goes to the Hubby, so even though I give him ideas the final decision on what I get rests in his hands. Now I have to somehow how get him to come up with a list for me.
1- Aveeno Moisturizing Cream Oil
I have been not so blessed with sensitive skin. It’s hard for me to try out new lotions and body products. Once I find something that won’t make my skin break out, I typically have to stick with it. And then, I can still have breakouts from products I have been using for years. It’s just something I have to live with. My dermatologist recommended that I stick with Aveeno lotion products. They have very minimal colors and smell which makes them more natural. My skin likes. I prefer the Moisturizing Cream Oil over the plain Oatmeal cream. It’s lighter, absorbs into the skin a little faster, and has jut a hint of light fresh smell. Aveeno is on the pricier side for lotions, but I’d rather spend a little more for something that I will be nourishing my entire body with and that 9 times out of then won’t give me hives.
2- Catwalk: Curls Rock:
I have crazy, thick, curly, frizzy, coarse hair. No matter the length or the style of the cut, my hair looks the same. It looks as if a pack of wild birds has created a nest on top of my head. I used to wear my hair straight every single day. I did this for years. Friends of mine in college didn’t even know I had curly hair till 2 years into our friendship. I was obsessed with straightening my hair. My hair also had the longest split ends ever. My hair was so un-healthy. It wasn’t until the end of my pregnancy that I was just becoming too exhausted to care what my hair looked like. Then the baby came, and baby changes all. I literally had no time or sleep to barely function, my hair was the last thing on my to-do list; if it made it at all. SO now, my hair id dye free, curly and completely natural. I have tried so many drugstore and salon products. The only product that has been able to some-what tame my crazy nest is the Catwalk Curls Rock. For a drugstore products is fairly expensive, around $15 for a bottle that will last about a month. BUT it’s so worth it. I use 2 pumps to cover all the inner layers, and 1 pump to cover the outer layer. It holds my curls together tighter and with less frizz. It doesn’t make my hair any less crazy, I don’t think anything can. But it at least makes it manageable. Plus it actually smells great.
3- St. Ives Green Tea Face Wash and Face Scrub
St. Ives is another more natural drugstore product that my skin can tolerate. Green Tea is also great for the body. Both of these products I think are around $4 each. They smell great, they work, and I’ve had less acne since using them with the combination of washing my face more. In the shower I alternate between these 2 products, and my Clarisonic with the Boscia face wash. I love my Clarisonic, but I’m not completely sold on the Boscia face wash, I’m not sure if I would buy it again. The green Tea face wash does the trick and it’s a lot cheaper.
4- Suave Professionals Shampoo & Conditioner in Rosemary and Mint
I have probably tried every drugstore shampoo and conditioner. From Nutrisse to even Aveeno. I need a really good conditioner for my crazy hair; you do not want to see what my hair does without conditioner. I love love love Pureology products, that conditioner is the best that I have ever tried. The mint creates magic in my hair. But I refuse to pay the Salon prices for Shampoo and Conditioner. Suave Rosemary and Mint is surprisingly the closet thing I have found, and for the big bottles I think it’s around $5. That’s just insane, I don’t know how they make money. It’s not quite creating magic in my hair, but it’s very close. My hair just loves the mint.
5- Biore Pore Strips
Black heads are the devil. And as much as I clean and scrub my face with expensive or inexpensive products and tools. I still have black heads and I want them gone, Now! Pore Strips really do work. They don’t remove them all, but they will remove the larger ones. The proof is on the strip after you pull it off, you can see all the little piles of dirt. So gross to know that gunk was just sitting in your skin, but it’s also so satisfying to know that you are removing it. Pulling the strip of your skin hurts like a bitch, it’s best to do it fast. My skin from that area stays red for a while and has a slight annoying pain. SO I typically do it right before bed, so I can just sleep through it. Even my hubby uses the pore strips, after I begged and begged and finally convinced him to just try it he saw the proof and is a believer as well.
