Every year my family rents a house in Dennis Port, MA for a week with friends. This year marked our 6th year in the Cape. We spent all last week in the cape with beautiful weather. Every day was in the mid 80s with a light breeze on the beach. We spent the week biking to the beach and eating Lobster Rolls. It was the perfect vacation.
Our favorite beach down on the Cape is Mayflower Beach in Dennis, MA.
Walking down the boardwalk from the parking lot to the beach. The sand is white and soft and the tide goes out for miles leaving tide pools that are perfect for crab hunting. The shack at the parking lot offers bathrooms, showers, food and new this year; frozen lemonade.
This is the perfect family beach. We love coming here even though it’s a 20 minute drive from where we normally stay. It’s best to get there early in the morning around 8 or 9 in order to get a parking space. The beach is popular and the parking lot fills up quickly.
Besides buying a lot of lobster to eat, I did pick up a few souvenirs.
Salt Water Taffy from Mermaid Brand Cape Cod Salt Water Taffy. They offer 31 flavors at only $9.99 per pound. What I liked about this taffy place is that you were able to pick your own flavors to fill your box.
A Cape Cod coffee mug from Cuffy’s of Cape Cod for a steal at only $3.99.
The Cape Cod screwball bracelet is an iconic piece of jewelry that was first design by John Carey in 1968 in Dennis, MA. This is my third Cape Cod bracelet and I always go to Currents to get mine. They are not the ‘original’ as they are not from John Carey’s art studio but they are perfect copies made with 100% sterling silver.
One day I strolled through down town Chatham with my bestie and we came across this shop Sea Bags of Maine that was selling bags made out of recycled sails and I just had to have one. The purse size bags I found to be a bit expensive especially since I would not use it as an everyday bag so I picked out this cute little wrist with an anchor.
I also picked up some shirts for the family. Three are from Cuffy’s and the gray-blue one is from Soft as a Grape.
We had a wonderful time on the Cape and look forward to going again next year!
