March 19 marked my 5th Wedding Anniversary. Each year my husband and I have celebrated by spending a night in Boston kid free to enjoy dinner and quality time with no agenda. This year was different since it was our first mile-stone anniversary, we planned a two night getaway at the Omni Mount Washington Resort.
What I love and appreciate about the Mount Washington resort is the dedication they uphold to keeping the resort true to its original charm and character while still providing up to date and luxurious amenities.
The original wood floors creak when you walk, the craftsmanship wood work shows years of layers of paint in its imperfection. The cave in the basement which was once a speakeasy is like walking into another world, a room made of stone and brick that carry generations of secrets.
The hubby and I enjoyed fine dining, a royal spa treatment, a jacuzzi soak while meeting new friends overlooking the mountains, a cold and brisk walk around the grounds, the best bloody marys, and uninterrupted conversation. The weekend was perfectly what we needed and made possible by the resort and grand parents willing to baby sit. Here are some of my favorite shots from the weekend.
For a little nostalgia, here is what I was doing on March 19 five years ago.
Our next mile-stone anniversary will be our 10th. I suggested Europe or tropical for a whole week, and I even said I wanted to bring the kids.
