Edible Raw Cookie Dough

I know your not supposed to eat raw cookie dough that contains eggs because there is a chance of consuming salmonella which causes a type of food poisoning.

I have been eating raw dough of every kind since I was a child and I have never been sick from it. I tried this recipe mostly out of curiosity to see how similar the taste would be.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 4 tbsp softened butter
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  • Heat flour for 2 minutes in microwave
  • Mix sugar, butter, vanilla and salt together
  • Add milk
  • Gradually add flour while mixing
  • Stir in chocolate chips

It was ok-ay. I found it very greasy and it really only tasted like butter and brown sugar. I also don;t understand the purpose of heating the flour. The flour smelled like burnt nuts.

There was no comparison to the real thing. I will stick with eating real raw cookie dough that con taints eggs, it simply taste better.
