Why I choose to work and be a mom

workingmom

I paid (still am) a significant amount of money for my education

I worked my ass off to put myself through college

I want to contribute to my family financially

I want to contribute to my daughters education as well as her future financially

I want my daughter to know that you don’t have to choose between your dreams

I want my daughter to know that you can have a successful career and be a great mother

I want my daughter to know what hard work looks like

I want my daughter to not give in to female stereotypes

I want to be able to take care of myself and my daughter no matter what the future holds

I want my daughter to understand what sacrifices are, prioritizing means, all while not giving up.

I want her to see that sometimes life is hard, not fair, and overwhelmingly stressful, but that it takes hard work, determination and patience to push forward

I want to be her role model. I want her to take the best parts of me and become an even greater woman than I could ever be.
