I attended a wedding in Haddam Connecticut on Saturday, and my hotel was in Middletown.
This is a church on Main Street, where we were staying.
We stayed at the Armory Hotel.
Brick, rod iron fence, wooden detail. You could tell that the building was old, so I had high hopes for the rooms. Our room at least was really basic and looked like every other hotel that I have stayed in.
As soon as you walked into the hotel there was a grand spiral staircase which led to the above picture. This room had two hall rooms off of it. One of which we ate breakfast in the morning after the wedding. That’s the hubby checking out the huge chandelier.
Before we got ready, the Hubby and I had lunch in the Tavern on the first floor. It;s not that often that we get to eat out alone so it was nice to have lunch with some grown up conversation. I loved the stainless steel with the dainty flowers.
I ordered the goat cheese and arugula salad. It was light and delicious.
The reception was at the River House. This is the river behind the building. At night you could see the lights from all the boats.
This is part of the deck over-looking the river. And some guests getting cocktails before everything kicks off.
Our center piece, with another chandelier back drop.
The reception was open-bar. This is wine, champagne, and their signature drink of champagne and raspberry chambord. The drinks were flowing, and I had a great time.
The happy couple during their first dance. Congratulations to Kelly and Steve.
